River Valley Rest Home is a Level IV Rest Home licensed for 25 beds with CSF (Community Support Facility) designation. With CSF designation, RVRH can admit residents with mental health without gaining any other approval or waiver. The home is currently
running 60% mental health residents through a mix of private pay and assistance.
Activities
We’ll gladly take you to the nearby shopping malls for some “retail therapy”. We have these trips regularly scheduled, so ask us about our next shopping trip, or check our Calendar of Events.
Resident Care
A much more relaxed and independent way of handling residents was developed. The home’s philosophy is that residents should be encouraged to do as much as they can for themselves.

The main part of the rest home is the original Victorian home designed by architect William F. Pratt for Samuel Porter and was completed in 1887. This was a grand home in its time boasting of all the modern conveniences
